activity to popularize scientific knowledge

Since 1982, with the support of UNICEF, the informal education project of China Association for Science and Technology-UNICEF has been cooperating continuously for more than 30 years and achieved fruitful results. The informal education project has a five-year cycle. At present, China Association for Science and Technology and UNICEF have cooperated in non-formal education projects in 24 poverty-stricken counties in 12 provinces. In recent years, non-formal education programs, combined with the practical needs of the development of disadvantaged young people, provide educational services such as living ability and production skills for disadvantaged young people aged 14-18 from many aspects such as health, emotional intelligence, financial quotient, urban lifestyle, job hunting, career development and entrepreneurship, information technology, time management, self-management, safety and self-protection. Since 2011, China Association for Science and Technology has cooperated with UNICEF to carry out the training of non-formal education course "Towards Society-Life and Employment Development", which has accumulated a good foundation and experience in training content, teaching materials, expert team, experience and mode, better guided disadvantaged teenagers to complete the transition from rural to urban, from school to social work and life, helped them to prepare for urbanization, and avoided many unnecessary losses.
